Hot enuff?

Oh for gosh sakes Mother Nature, knock it off! We really don't need to feel yo hot flashes constantly!
Anyhoo, the Delta breeze kicked up quite nicely last night and I got 1/3 the way through an auction quilt (pic below).  Fundraiser is for  the Lennox-Gastalt Syndrome, which our daughter has...http://www.lgsfoundation.org/   You can click the link, click onto "stories", then the name Angel, thats us!
Making this quilt for a charity, and being able to longarm machine quilt it myself without paying/begging a longarm quilter to quilt it, is exactly the reason I'd wanted a machine for the pat 6 years...
Just found out about the event in New York state in august, so am making this quickie quilt. 1st time using the pattern by Swirly Girls Designs, "Perfect Ten".
I was really irritated at first cause the pattern says you MUST use a design wall, geez..Ok, haul out the HUGE piece O' board hunka hubbs brought home from work, lay some batting over it, and get going!
In 3 1/2 hours I was able to sew 2/3 of it....YAY meeeeeee....

Saucy Sicilian/Irish "Gravy"...

Yup, thought I'd wait till it got REALLY hot here to whip up sum sauce...lol
I make a big pot O' sauce, give some to my buddies, freeze some, EAT some :)
Going to get a lil sewing done? Ugh, sunroom is way too warm.  I will however do cutting out of a few dress patterns for my daughter (in the cool kitchen!)...Keep cool..

UFOs? What dat?

Well, not much UFO bustin around here either Susan!  I've had new projects (pics below) to accomplish, new bambino gifts, shower curtain for the remodeled bath, gah...on and on....
Its wonderful to take a shower without plastic draping the stall! I bought raspberry & lime towels, and ordered some fab to top a shower curtain I'll make.  Thats the spring /summer "look", not sure what I want for winter as the fishing motif got old...lol
Anyhoo, here are pics of sewing inbetween the HEAT!
Shower curtain fab is the middle pic. I'll add a band of raspberry fab to the top or bottom...

Illinois RAWKS!

A GIANT thank you and shout out to Illinois!  2 wonderful quilt shops, "Sweet Annie's", Troy Illinois,  & "Peddler's Way Quilt Co." in Washington Illinois.... Ya'll RAWK!
These 2 shops scoured their inventory and came up with exactly what I was desperate for...

Backstory: I was pulling fabs from my stash and realized I didn't have the background fabs to even begin. MANY long hours surfing the web, I found Sweet Annie's and ordered the "floral spray" fab.
I called Sweet Annie's just to see if they had any scraps of the Rouenniers line.  She said no, but try Peddler's Way Quilt Co.
Well Peddlers Way had the floral medallion fab!  Iam over the moon at the wonderful customer service these 2 shops provided to a crazy, desparate quilter in Calif!
Having worked at 3 quilt shops myself, I know that one can't usually find the fabs used in quilt books. This being said, I fell in love with the Rouenniers taupe/gray prints and really wanted to duplicate the book. I have ALL the red prints, but for some reason only bought 1/2 yd. of a taupe, gah!
Thanks again to Sweet Annie's and Peddler's Way Quilt Co....What a blessing!
