Oh for gosh sakes Mother Nature, knock it off! We really don't need to feel yo hot flashes constantly!
Anyhoo, the Delta breeze kicked up quite nicely last night and I got 1/3 the way through an auction quilt (pic below). Fundraiser is for the Lennox-Gastalt Syndrome, which our daughter has...http://www.lgsfoundation.org/ You can click the link, click onto "stories", then the name Angel, thats us!
Making this quilt for a charity, and being able to longarm machine quilt it myself without paying/begging a longarm quilter to quilt it, is exactly the reason I'd wanted a machine for the pat 6 years...
Just found out about the event in New York state in august, so am making this quickie quilt. 1st time using the pattern by Swirly Girls Designs, "Perfect Ten".
I was really irritated at first cause the pattern says you MUST use a design wall, geez..Ok, haul out the HUGE piece O' board hunka hubbs brought home from work, lay some batting over it, and get going!
In 3 1/2 hours I was able to sew 2/3 of it....YAY meeeeeee....

Wow, Gail, that quilt is adorable! Someone will definetley buy that! For my design wall I just use a blanket I found at my parent's house and tack it to the wall. This only works if you have a free wall though! Keep cool :)
Great quilt!
I know the Swirly Girls as one used to own a great quilt shop near me and the other worked there. How about that?
My design wall is small and folds in half, but it also supports part of a large piece of flannel that I pin to the top of part of my stash. Presto! A design wall temporarily up in my small sewing room.
I'm part of Susan's UFO challenge.
Cheers!
