Well I've been buzy quiltmaking and longarming...Just getting back into the swing of the Longarming jiggles by brain up...I've surprised myself in the pantograph area, and haven't had to watch the DVD much...YAY!

Sidetracted...

So, I was sewing  with a "Quilt-a-Long" (Granny Squares).... Finished the top, just need a border which will be pieced.
Anyhoo, I got all sidetracked with rearranging the back porch sewing area...One thing led to another, and I re-did the office/sewing chair. Oh, and made myself a shabby lil cork board that I'd always wanted...
I spray painted the metal parts. stapled gunned the seat fab, and slip covered the back..Whew!
Gotta make a 60th B-day quilt for hubb's friend, then, finally, I can get back to MY stuff!

UFO progress report

I finished longarming my quilt, sewed the binding on, just have to stitch it!

The blue batik quilt is my neighbor Bonnie's that I was teaching her to quilt (3 yrs. ago) so it is a UFO for sure!

Sewing room shutdown?

So, I knew I smelled sumthin funny....The sewing/sunroom has OLD, funky wiring...Now it doesn't work at all...The wiring burned out! Electrician will be here tomorrow...Did u know u can run yo PC from a heavy duty extension cord? lol

The oldest living UFO?

3 inch squares.... really? 4 cheater corners on each 160, 3 inch square? No wonder this UFO was hidden, I mean gently tucked away for, ummm, 7 or 8 years?
I didn't finish it the way the pattern called for because I was NOT even going to do more corners...gah
It is going to a great home, my neighbor whose daughter's room is pink. So Nina, here is yo quilt, its as old as you are!
Today I'll be making some UFO pillowcases, then maybe something I want to work on for FUN!

Use caution while seaching through yo stash for needed fabs...You might find (gasp!) a REALLY OLD UFO! 2002? yikes..better get busy...

Long story...

Ok, seems whatever I do to this applique quilt takes WAY longer than it should and ends up SOoooo much more complicated than is possible!  %&*$#@
I was playing with the arrangement of the vine, berries, and leaves...Figured out that ALL the berries I made last nite are too small!!! I used the wrong size "Perfect Circle" &%$#@
Oh YES, I WILL use the small ones, somewhere on the quilt!!
So, now I only have to make 24 correct sized berries...
This was all before I made the half square triangle border TWICE!  Didn't like it the 1st way, tore 3 borders off, had to take apart the units to resew in 1/8 seam allowance...grrrrr
I really can't believe that just about every step after the main center of this quilt has been irritating!
Oh wait, speaking of the center, I found out where those TINY berries were supposed to go...Umm, in the center of the big flowers...OMG...I quit

2 hours?

After using the "Perfect Circles" to make the first berry, I really didn't think I could do 23 MORE!
I watched the last hour or so of "The Help", and powered through. Only 6 more berries to go! Yay me!
As for the movie? Geesh, I was shocked...Having always lived in Calif. I didn't realize how extensive the culture of entitlement was...Loved the "pie" storyline..bah ha ha...

Oh, and I ripped off the corners of the quilt, and inserted the redish print...

Happy!

Ok, so I wouldn't go to bed last nite/this morn till I figured out a design...This is what I ended up with. I'll start out with each "row", measure, see how much bigger it grows.... Who knows maybe some lil gremlin will magically finish it ALL for me?

Oh, and yes, the eraser got a really good work out...lol

Table from an antique mall, good price!  It folds in half so can be used as a hall table...New parsons chairs from Pier one, and slipcovers 1/2 off :)
Now the walls need painting!
